Postpartum support usually occurs in the first 12 weeks after baby is born, but can happen at any time. Services provided with postpartum support:

• Care of baby while parents or family members rest or participate in self care

• Assistance with older siblings

• Baby laundry

• Organization of baby items

• Light house work

• Preparation of snacks for parents

• Meal planning

Types of care involved in lactation counseling:

• Observation of at least 1 nursing session

• Education on feeding and full cues

• Suggestions in optimizing latch, and positioning

• Chance to ask any and all questions

• Lots of LOVE and SUPPORT!
